This Old Thing - Tape Recorder

Here we go again!

Finding time for personal projects between family life and a game dev career is a rare treat these days—but every now and then, I get an evening to myself to dive into some fun modeling and texturing.

It's been about three years since I switched to Blender, and I'm finally starting to feel pretty efficient and fast with it. I'm not really a hard surface artist, but there's something meditative about figuring out every corner and bolt of everyday objects. I also can't get enough of texturing these assets, it's just so much fun! My son eagerly wants to help out, especially when it comes to picking which color goes where.

Anyway, here's a tape recorder: Modeled in Blender, textured in Painter, and rendered in Cycles. It's a game-ready prop that could be dropped straight into any engine as-is.
