Five Boats Row - The Devils Song

This project was born because I wanted to do some kind of homage to the really artsy horror flicks out there. Filled with inspiration from Robert Eggers The Lighthouse I decided to copy the physical camera properties of old and grainy medium format cameras (4:3). I think the mood turned out really great and the project quickly evolved into something more. I did not want to push this project too far away from my initial idea so instead of trying to do a great point and click I decided to just go with trying to deliver a solid experience. I hired voice acting on Fiverr and had a blast directing and implementing that and it bumped the production value so much on this haha. Unfortunately I had to remove the music in the final upload because of licensing but please imagine the creepy and ear deafening sounds from the lighthouse in the background and in the final crescendo (its really flat without the soundtrack).

It was great showcasing this to my friends during our dev nights.

Exposure of the scene was very tricky to get right while you tried to keep the aperture wide enough to get the soft medium format depth of field look.

Main Deck - Challenging part here was bobbing from the waves. The boat is standing still and ocean wave motion is faked with the camera itself.
